What started as an idea to show how stupid and unnecessary gendered products are, I decided to focus on the stigma of men wearing makeup. I created a makeup kiosk-themed table and turned it into a game-like experience inspired by those dress-up games as the user picks a boy and gets to put makeup on them while learning facts about different makeup products and how many of the products's origins stem from men using them more regularly than men. I wanted to show how men can be glamorous too, and it shouldn’t be such a big deal.
What I learned: This experience was filled with highs and lows, teaching me valuable lessons in adaptability and problem-solving. I learned to swiftly pivot and make new choices when faced with unexpected challenges, such as when my original plans didn't pan out as expected or when different software tools didn't integrate smoothly. These experiences honed my ability to think on my feet and find creative solutions.
